Description: Climactichnites is a horizontally oriented trackway characterized by well-defined arched or V-shaped ridges and finer arcuate rill marks. Climactichnites is typically larger (about 15 cm diameter) than most similar trackways, such as Cruziana. Comments: This image was sent to me by Y. leclerc via e-mail, so I was pleased to receive an image of a real documented specimen instead of the replica I photographed in Germany. This is also the first Canadian trace fossil I've included in the image database!
