Description: Gyrophyllites is s vertically or obliquely oriented burrow that has a number of leaf-like projections that extend from the central shaft in a helical pattern; the projections can also show spreite. Gyrophyllites is interpreted as a feeding burrow made by an animal that made repeated probes into the sediment in a radial pattern.
