BIBLIOGRAPHY

Last Updated: Feb. 29, 1996.

This bibliography is by no means complete or comprehensive, so please recheck it for periodic updates. Because many references include information from both paleoichnology and neoichnology, there is no sorting of references with regard to either of those subdivisions of ichnology.

However, in recognition of the present bias in this ichnology page to marine invertebrate trace fossils, I have added a new section of references specifically devoted to vertebrate ichnology. This preliminary reference list has about 300 references related mainly to vertebrate tracks and burrows but also has a few references on coprolites, nests, and gastroliths. Most references are about dinosaurs but fish, amphibian, reptile, bird, and mammal trace fossils are also covered.

The current order to general references is alphabetical. References have been sorted into linked folders that have ranges of names (e.g., A-C, D-F, etc.). Some of the non-English references may have improper usage of diacritical marks; normally this is an artifact of the browser, but I would appreciate any tips that you might have for accurate usage and citations.
